Day 8-10: Intro to Crazy 8



Crazy 8:

Create a new file size:  8x8in. 200 res.  Make sure you are in RGB Mode


Targets:

- I can create a work of art with a focal point (emphasis).
- I can show all 8 images in my work while creating UNITY

*  you will collect these images if you have not already
  1. Person or People
  2. Something electronic
  3. Landscape
  4. Drawing or Painting
  5. Map
  6. Pattern or Texture
  7. Clouds or Outer Space
  8. Animal or Creature

your layers should be titled like this


When you finish each technique you can rearrange the layers and play with how you want the outcome to look. 
Keep improving your design so it has a FOCAL POINT.

- Through a Google Image Search, Collect Images for the elements of art listed above #1-7.
- Make sure your images are large enough by going to
- Tools:  Size:  Larger Than:  2mp

Place these images into your Portfolio.  One image per slide.  Make a title for your slide.

Day 3: Starting a Portfolio / Crazy 8

Making a Portfolio:

Target:
- I feel confident using Google Slides to make a portfolio.
- I honestly think about text (typography) and color when designing my portfolio while I am making my art.

Go to Google Drive:  New: Google Slides: Blank Presentation.
*  Interesting Font - Make sure it is easy to read
*  Background Color
*  can you add any other design elements to slides?  Now is the day to practice!

Slide 1:  Your Name and VAT

Slide 2:  Your Pizap Image and the Title Pizap
Slide 3:  Any Above and Beyonds that you created and Title them the app. that you used to create with.

On Slides 2 and 3 write a brief summary of... what you thought about the tools and apps that you used.  Your feelings and weather you would recommend this app to others because of the ease of it etc.  Can you discuss Elements and or Principles of art and Design Used?

Use Google Image Search to find the following...
Make sure to go to  - Tools: Size: Larger Than 2mp


Save an image in each of these categories to your Drive File Stream.  Make a new Folder called Crazy 8

Day 1: WELCOME!

Think Like An Artist...


What kind of art do we cover in VAT?
  1. Basics of Art (Elements & Principles)
  2. Photography
  3. Graphic Design/ Typography
  4. Digital Illustration
  5. Animation/ GIF/ Moving Image
  6. Self Promotion
  7. Reasons to create digital art (for self, for audience, for purpose)


- The projects within the portfolios are smaller scale formative grades that you will have throughout the semester.

Each slide should include two sentences for each point listed.
- Discuss the tools, programs used etc. during the creation process.
- Discuss what elements of art and principles of designs used and how.
- Discuss personal feelings during the project.

Schedule:

1. Log on to a computer: FirstName_LastName_YY
                                         Pass: birthday (mmddyyyy)
(Login is the same password as chromebook)



2.  Open and sign in to Google Chrome 



3. Go to https://vatbentle.blogspot.com/ and bookmark this website

4.  Go to your Google Drive 
5.  Go to the Drive File Stream and Log in. (You will find this icon on the bottom left of screen.) This is where you will save your work.

6.  Within your File Stream create a folder called VAT.
(to create a folder try right clicking your mouse)

8.  Now is the time for Troubleshooting and Creating...

 - Web cam Toy

9.  Writing prompt:
On a note card please write in this order and number it.
1. Name, (preferred name) year in school
2.  What you are good at and your interests
3. What you struggle at
4. What holidays do you celebrate if any and what do they mean to you.
